April Issue of "Sifting the Ashes"

The April edition of my monthly newsletter, “Sifting the Ashes,” is up and available at www.firescientist.com. This month’s issue begins with a look at accreditation for fire investigation units (FIUs). Only a few FIUs are accredited so far, but the OSAC and NFPA are developing the standards infrastructure to facilitate accreditation.

This month’s case study describes the problems associated with a commercial fire loss and a determination of arson that may or may not have been correct. You decide.
