Is there a formula for calculating heat flux at different distances from a heat source?
I've got a scenario with a double bed fully engaged in a 10'x12' bedroom
and someone questioning why daddy couldn't get past it's open door let alone inside.
I'm quoting NFPA 921 :
Table 5.6.3.1 Representative Peak HRRs (Unconfined Burning)
Fuel kg (Mass) lb (kW)
Polyurethane mattress 3–14 7–31 810–2630
Polyurethane sofa 51 113 3120
and Table 5.5.4.2 Effect of Radiant Heat Flux
but need the math to relate the one to the other
(this excludes radiation from the smoke layer under-ceiling).
