In these tests, are you controlling the energy input to the pot of oil? Differences in heat output will obviously contribute to or reduce the propensity for non-piloted ignition (auto-ignition). One might find that the heat output of burners are different for the testing.
Also, if I remember our testing results and the testing results from Fire Findings, the temperature of the cooking oil needs to be higher that 500 or 600 degrees F at the non-piloted ignition of the oil.
