Remember also that normal structure fire temperatures is a general term, as it doesnt account for another normal fuel package: pressure fed fuel gases. The normal fuel loads in a living room or bedroom is different than that of a kitchen, laundry room, utility room. It is not uncommon to see melted steel typically in the immediate vicinities of natural gas/propane connections and feeders.
