Jim,
I think a good example of the error rate is a fire were the fire department opined the cause of a Sauna fire in an apartment complex was an "Electrical Fire". The fires origin was next to a sauna heater, was this a thermal runaway was it a clearance question? The sauna had a warning label on the exteior, which read it is required that the clearance for any vertical or horizontal surface was 5 inches.
What did Sir Arthur Conan Doyle say It is a capital mistake to theorize before on has data.
After an inspection by one of our engineers, a brown substance was recovered and sent for an analysis and it came back as hydryocarbon parrafine, candle wax one of the tennants must of had some kind of party going on in the sauna and left the candle burning.
When the FIRS report is sent to the great computer and is entered into the National Stats. The report should have read fire caused by a candle, not an electrical fire.
Best regards, Tony
