You know what was wrong with the ISFI symposium? Nothing, that's what! It was truly the best I have ever attended, and it had a quality typical of NAFI Seminars. The hotel, the food, the snacks (and oh yes, the presentations) were first rate.
Whatever your opinion of Pat Kennedy, it must be said that he knows how to put these things together. Actually, I think he makes his wife and daughters do the heavy lifting. The NAFI staff were on top of everything.
As for multiple presentations, they do not work well. I have been in a couple of seminars where I was required to make the same presentation two or three times. It becomes almost impossible to remember what details of a particular subject have been covered. The law of dimninishing returns applies. Also, as a speaker, I want to catch some of the other presentations.
