There's a problem here. Maloney didn't file an appeal. Investigator Ira Robins filed a petition for original action, requesting that the SCt appoint a special prosecutor to investigate forensic fraud and perjury by Wis. DOJ arson investigator Greg Eggum. Robins filed with the SCt because every other authority was conflicted out, and this was detailed in the petition.

So what did the SCt do? Gave Eggum and Wis. DOJ standing as parties to the action, and tried to make it an appeal of Maloney's conviction instead of the original action it was. Robins objected, reminding the SCt that Eggum and WDOJ are suspects, not parties. The SCt's procedural rules require that a commissioner be appointed to review and report on the merits of an original action, but the justices skipped that and simply denied the petition. I do not believe they have heard the last of this from Robins.

Too bad Fred Zain didn't work for the State of Wisconsin. He would have died a hero, and could have taken the secret of his forensic fraud and perjury to the grave with him.
