Interesting that the solution being offered is to install proper lightning and grounding protection on the building. Could it be that where failures have occurred, the real problem was that inadequate lightning and grounding protection was provided?
Have seen a lot instances where the gas piping installers and/or electricians fail to provided proper bonding and grounding of metallic gas piping of all types.
