I have been presented with a situation where there is a potential allegation that an aroma therapy pillow ignited in a microwave after being heated. The fire discovery, via smoke odor awaking the occupant, was maybe 3 hours after the pillow was heated in the appliance. Owner has no info on pillow, heating duration, or microwave data yet, but described small burn holes on the pillow cover. Has anyone run across this type scenario before? Anyone familiar with research in this area??
