About 15 years ago, I received training from New Scotland Yard's anti-Terrorist unit
(also from the FBI & US Secret Service, but, due to the IRA, NSY were streets ahead of the rest).
At the time, there were (only) some 750 000 CCTV-cameras in London,
and the average Londoner recorded 4 times daily on average.
I remember bomb investigation case studies where they viewed 2000 – 3000 CCTV video tapes.
They had number-plate readers installed on the main highways, and a database of IRA-sympathizers;
If Paddy drove in by car, they knew he was in town…
At the time, the IRA were no fools either;
Due to forensic fibre-analysis, they built bombs in the buff,
When DNA-analysis started to nail then, they wore Tyvex suits.
