Ceiling heat

Investigating a fire that has known problems with ceiling heat. The thermostat intermittently could control temp. Last night the heat could not be properly adjusted such that the doors and windows needed to be opened because of high heat last nights temp was in the 40's. Any known fires caused by ceiling heat. Constructed in the 70's thin wire sandwiched between sheetrock and sprayed on texture. thermostat the regulating device. Thanks
