I have not worked the scene, but based on some of the photos sent to me; it appears to have started in either the living room or kitchen area. I should be on scene early in the morning and hope to make a determination and area of origin tomorrow.
Based on the photos, I do not believe the oily residue to be from the burning of any furniture as it appears to be unburned. Additional information forwarded to me this afternoon, is the home was for sale, not occupied, the home owner purchased a know accelerant at a store less than a mile from the scene about an hour prior to the fire being discovered, and this is about the 9th such fire that they have experienced.
That's why the local fire and sheriff's office called for my assistance.
