You cannot quote code section per NFPA

Good morning.
I am sitting in a fire prevention webinar and the speaker stated
" in public presentations/ education you cannot quote or display the NFPA code section" Apparently the book publishers (NFPA) want to give you permission to quote their code citations and sections in a presentation.
Now personally I think this is either misguided information by NFPA or misinterpreted by the presenter of the webinar I am attending. But if even partially true it is going to be interesting from digging, to court, to final judgement.
Just passing information. Does anyone have thoughts on this?
