"Vapor density" is an acceptable term if one means thereby the mass per unit volume. Too often it is used to refer to what should be called the "specific gravity relative to air." Terms of art are fine, but I believe it is a mistake to take a well accepted definition from the realm of hard science and adopt it to mean something else. Density and specific gravity are two different animals; they should be kept in separate pens.
