ignitable liquid detection

Need some advice here.

My department has found some money for an ignitable liquid detector. So I am looking around.

Any advice on what to buy?

I have heard the Texas Instrument TIF-8850 is a good and easy to use unit.

I have also heard that there are some new Infrared Gas Detection units now on the market and it is the coming technology for Arson detectors.

What kind of unit, short of a canine, are investigators using these days.

Thanks

Mike
