The carpenters who attached the siding over insulation board paid no attention to the studs, and only hit them at random. Most of the nails they used did not hit studs. Further, the nails were too long, and one of them hit an electrical wire and lit the blackboard.

Question: Does anyone know of a building code that says not to nail siding randomly, or not to penetrate wires with nails?

We know the guys were slobs. We need to find out if they were code-violating slobs. My guess is no, but I told the client I'd ask.
