Most people working today got their training in the public sector, and almost all private sector investigators, including me, started out as public sector investigators.
The L&O producers actually made a hero out of the prosecutor, a public sector person. And in any case of a wrongful criminal accusation, it is almost out of necessity a private sector investigator that goes to work for the defendant. It's a structural problem that can't be helped.
In any case, it doesn't matter which sector makes more errors--it only matters that we all work together to reduce the number of errors.
