When it comes to the private sector, the investigator is placed in a unique situation in that he or she may know the person is guilty but legally can not say anything without violating the law. Just as some attorneys, private investigators, other than fire experts, or even a doctor may know of the person’s guilt, but can say nothing because of the legal statues preventing disclosure of this information. Are they doing society a disservice by not disclosing their knowledge or is there some occasions where it is more of a benefit to society to have it to where they can not disclose the information. This is why my answer said there is no one correct answers to these questions.
