I got that information right from the instructors mouths when i went thru fire school at Allegheny County Pa. in late 90's
and thats what they still teach at the fire academy.
If you wonder how bad info gets circulated every where go no further than your local fire academy.
I have entire article about bad fire instructors I wrote on my blog.
You have same problem in trades to where rumors get started as to how something works or how something happened and it stays there till corrected.
usually after some one dies does it finally get corrected.
