NFPA Fire Investigations Report, "Storage Fire (Kmart), Fall Township, PA, June 21, 1982," National Fire Protection Association, Quincy, MA.

[www.chemaxx.com] (Numerous useful videos)

[www.usmra.com] (Excellant series of photos of fireball and fire spread spread by ruptured can.

How far an aerosol can may spread depends on the rupture mechanism. The liquid from a can containing an oil or solvent can squirt from from a small puncture just as far as a water hose or squirt gun can propell water. A jet from the siphon tube can produce a fire fountain 10 feet tall. A can on its side can shotgun solvent or oil across a room.

An upright can with a blown-out bottom may produce a fireball well over ten feet tall and leave a spread of afterburning liquid across a broad area on the ground. Also, the metal can may attain velocities of the same order as an arrow from a hunting bow.

Fire spread by aerosol cans is real. Also, the likelyhood of of finding bogus multiple origins in the wake of an aerosol can rupture is a real problem, not to be dismissed as having the probability of a meteorite impact.
