The 50 actual scenes requirement is guideline employed by the board directed at professional O & C investigators in order to fulfill the CFEI Guidelines. The Guidelines specifically address that not only O & C investigators are eligible for certification, but also those that practice “the civil and criminal litigation that ensues from such investigations and analyses.”
The Board has consistently ruled that Attorneys may become certified without the minimum number of fifty actual scenes as the lead investigator. It is obvious to the Board that most Attorneys have never been the lead investigator at any scenes.
All attorneys that hold the CFEI certification however, must fulfill the other necessary requirements for certification, including training and education, professional experience.
If you or Mr. Sanders, or anyone, wants to know anything about the CFEI program, particularly before posting here on the forum, please feel free to contact me at 941-351-6409. This may avoid any future postings of erroenous information or NAFI CFEI bashing disguised as questions.
