Jim,
If you would have taken my advice from the previous post “…anyone, wants to know anything about the CFEI program, particularly before posting here on the forum, please feel free to contact me at 941-351-6409. This may avoid any future postings of erroenous information…,” you would know a litle more of what you are posting.
There has never been a CFEI by the name of Randy Pips. There is a current CFEI with a similar name who is an attorney from Baton Rouge. This gentleman attended an NAFI/NFPA National Fire Arson, and Explosion Investigation Program in Chicago in 1998, at which he took and passed the CFEI examination. His reported prior 12 years experience at that time was approximately 500 previous fire litigation cases.
If you would have called me you might have gotten your facts straight. The attorney’s comment which you cite in this post, “…all one had to do to get the certification was to take a class and pay you money.” is, of course, patently incorrect. No one acheives the CFEI certification by merely taking a class and paying me money! I personally receive no remuneration for any NAFI work, and this includes any “out of pocket” expenses. Your “off the cuff” comments, and suppositions about the purpose of this particular attorney’s achieving CFEI status may not be NAFI CFEI bashing (or libel), but the continued inaccuracy of your comments and/or the reporting of others’ inaccurate comments certainly has the same effect.
