Sounds like a Depends question.
Seems like it would depends on alot of variables.
Have not seen an attic fire effect a smoke detector.
Maybe if 110 volt, lose power if not battery back up.
The way people have described attic fires to me is they either heard noise in the attic or a passer by has alerted them that there house is on fire, long before the smoke detector would activate.
