Dennis:
In the world of the Accelerant Detection Canine, "weathered" gasoline is the basic imprint for the canine. It is also consistently used for training purposes and during the extensive testing evolutions for annual proficiency through the Canine Accelerant Detection Association.
So, how do we obtain the "weathered" gas? From a regular unleaded gas pump, pour 8 (eight) ounces of gas into a clear and clean glass (more than 8 ounces) container. In a convenient place, leave the container of gas open until the liquid has reduced, naturally evaporated, to 4 (four) ounces and secure with a tight fitting lid.
