70% "weathering" of a gasoline sample could occur in a matter of minutes or even seconds even in the absence of fire conditions. On the other hand, a sample which was protected from evaporation by one or more of a number of mechanisms might look fresh after a prolonged period. These thoughts lead this particular chemist to answer "No" to both questions.
