Mr Hayden
I don't even do O&C investigations, unlike most on this board. But I have (I think) a legitimate question... could this have been a 'motive driven' investigation?
I am involved in a case right now where law enforcement's first words were (to the effect) "We know this is a set fire. This (white) woman was pregnant by a (expletive deleted) and she didn't want to have to explain to her husband how she had a (expletive deleted) baby" I have been more than charitable in my paraphrasing.
We NEVER determined what started that fire, but the thought of a 'mixed race' baby is what drove this investigation. Disgusting and unaacceptable. This woman will be tried for murder on a fire that (in some folks minds) has plenty of motive, but little else in terms of how the fire started. But, this motive drove the investigation. VERY dangerous.
My words do not compare to your loss, so I won't pretend to understand what you are going through. I hope you can pull yourself through what is certainly a nightmare.
