Ya know, there are a lot of opinionated folks on this site and yet, after 100 views, it generated no comments. Interesting. This is why I titled the presentation "Secrets in the Firehouse". The point is that nobody wants to talk about it. I have arrested in excess of 20 firemen over the last 16 years of working exclusively fire and explosive investigations. I'm guessing some folks will read that last comment and feel a negative reaction towards me. We must change this mentality in the fire service because a criminal is a criminal whether he wears a black hat or a white hat (figuratively).
We must recognize the problem and work to correct it. Not only does it destroy the reputations of the vast majority of folks who become firemen for noble reasons, but it destroys the lives forever of the folks who fall into the arsonist trap. It can be prevented with recognition and education. Oh well, enough preaching. If anyone is in the Gulf Shores, Alabama area, stop by and visit me and ZZ Top. I'll be the pretty one (next to those guys anyway).

P.s. The wildland fires in California that killed the firefighters. Initially they thought the fire was set by a former volunteer fireman from Vidor, TX....What ever became of that lead?
