Before posting negative comments about NAFI or any of its programs check your facts. Please feel free to call me, especially if you do not know what you are talking about. (941) 351-6409, call collect if you want to.
Your comment: “Now my opinion on some earlier posts regarding CFEI. I do not believe that anyone's rules should be laxed because the test taker is an attorney.” is just wrong. None of the NAFI CFEI rules or Guidelines have been “laxed” for anyone (even if “laxed” was really a word).
Attorneys taking the CFEI examination get NO special treatment. The Guidelines and Handbook for CFEI state quite clearly that the program is for “…those persons who engage in the investigation and anlaysis of fire and explosion incidents and/or participate in the civil or criminal litigation which ensues from such investigations and analyses.”
In addition, much as we welcome ATF agents as CFEIs, the Certified Proctor Designation Form clearly states: “Designated proctors may not be a relative, supervisor, co-worker, or subordinate of the CFEI applicant.” You had best call the NAFI office as soon as possible for the proctored test which you just gave is invalid and the problem must be worked out, probably with a retest.
Such erroneous comments and mistakes might be elininated with a little research or a simple phone call. The Guidilines for the CFEI program (as well as the proctoring of examinations) are posted on the NAFI website, www.nafi.org.
