The answer is NO.

I am basing this answer on testimony given by the NFPA, through its representative in a deposition. When a person was attempting to say they used an NFPA standard to design a sprinkler system and because it was a standard, the fact that they followed the standard was sufficient to prove they were not negligent in there design of the system. The NFPA would not support their contention and said that none of their documents are pre-engineered documents. The NFPA during this litigation cited their disclaimer as to the accuracy and completeness of their documents.

I feel I must give so credence to the origination that develops, publishes and owns the rights to the documents. This is solely based on their testimony and is subject to change as new facts are presented.
