Doug, I have been to many of the burn cells tests and I always walk away with the same thoughts you illustrate.
It's nice seeing patterns and areas of origin in controlled tests, but the scenes I examine aren't controlled and the results of fire are way different that a test cell.
They are informative but not definitive.
