The newest editions of NFPA 1033 and NFPA 921 have many important changes affecting fire investigators. NFPA 1033 has new continuing education requirements, changes to the “16 topics,” and updated language regarding the use of scientific references and principles in fire investigation. NFPA 921 has extensive revisions affecting many topics, including fire cause classification, fire effects and fire patterns, ignitable liquid canine teams, and sources of information. In this new CFITrainer.Net module, NFPA 1033 & 921: 2022/2021 Editions Important Updates, we look at the major changes in these two important documents that personnel with fire investigation responsibilities need to know.
It would behoove every fire investigator and litigator to view this module.
