Where does National Fire Protection Association get its authority over the authority having jurisdiction? If the authority having jurisdiction want to apply the International Building Code instead of the NFPA Building Code is not there right? From what you are saying I can be held to not following the NFPA Building Code even though I am required by law to use the International Building Code that was adopted by the AHJ.
NFPA 5000 – Building Construction and Safety Code states it shall apply to the construction, alteration, repair, equipment, use and occupancy, maintenance, relocation, and demolition of every building or structure, or any appurtenance connected or attached to such buildings or structures within the jurisdiction.
What is the difference in this requirement and 1033’s requirements?
