Yes, I did have two cases where that was the conclusion reached. One was an electric heating unit was mounted to plywood. The heat from the heating coil was generated through the metal cabinet to the wood. The other was from the burner of a water heater through a metal plate that was placed on the wood floor to protect the floor from the heat of the burner. In both cases I had eyewitnesses the place the origin of the fire in its early stage.
