Just to add to the discussion, I personally alwways looked at fire modeling as nothing more than another tool in the toolbox,
Based on limited knowledge on fire modeling it is my understanding that the level of certainty can be an issue since fire modeling can only be completed with the open flame incipient stage scenario since a transition from smouldering fire to open flame could not be captured.
As you all know We don't often have a luxury of video on file to debate on the rate of error.
So again it is my understanding if timeline becomes an issue, a smouldering fire hypothesis could change the outcome.
I am sure others would have much to say on this topic.
