James... I totally understand and agree with you and even Doug on the majority of his content. My point is that in the majority of fires I deal with (as you and many know) the fire is suppressed in its early stages (within minutes of ignition) and the area of fire origin is commonly limited to a 3 foot by 3 foot by 6 foot area of origin on up to a 42 foot RV or 600 ton 140 foot marine vessel.
My point is that there are real world circumstances where the usage of those terms is very relevant and correct, but I also agree the vast majority of structure or large loss Commercial/Industrial fires they would not be. This is exactly where 921 takes on the Authoritative Guide/Treatise aspect, and deviations from the consensus are allowed and justified.
