What if the hypothesis is not specifically covered in the available literature?
For example, what if the hypothesis is that a backdraft explosion has been triggered by the partial collapse of the bottom horizontal surface of the space containing the pyrolyzate rich, vitiated smoke. The current published literature says you need a gravity current of fresh air from a vertical opening to mix with the smoke.
This brings up another issue, what if you set this up as an experiment and it does not work, does that mean it can not happen?
