Thanks for your input. This was one of a number of theories presented during this inquiry. This one in particular was attempting to explain the indicators if the fire started in the ceiling. The indicators were:
Clean, mechanically broken window glass out three sides of the house up to 20 meters.
One window frame, complete with clean intact glass on the ground outside the perimeter of the house.
Lightly singed, but otherwise intact curtains and clothing on the fences and in the bushes surrounding the house.
House burnt to a black hole.
Would the hole created by the partial collapse of the ceiling act as a pressure relief vent for any pressure front created by the backdraft, rather than the entire ceiling exploding down?
