Fires in Regulators on Portable Oxygen Bottles

I am working a fire where the regulator on a portable oxygen bottle (strapped to a stretcher) sustained moderate fire damage and there is limited damage elsewhere. The paramedic and patient were reasonably close to the location of the regulator and sustained only minor injuries. Has anyone worked fires where an o-ring or seal in the regulator failed? Has anyone investigated a similar incident? I am in the process of developing more information; thus, may be able to add more information tomorrow or Monday.
