There were several incidents a few years ago involving fires in regulators in portable oxygen cylinders. Several firefighters and a police officer were burned in different incidents. These incidents took place in Austin and Houston, TX. Research at the time also revealed several other incidents throughout the country. Part of the problem was found to be connected to the regulators being constructed out of aluminum. A call to the safety divisions of these departments might shed some information.
