Maybe the question should be, if you had a fire would you be satisfied that the investigator was using an acceptable level of only 50% to decide what was the cause of your fire.
I believe if our profession is to be accepted as creditable, we must base our opinions on a higher level. I am not suggesting that with the higher level there is a guarantee the conclusion will be correct, but at least in the mine of the person reaching the conclusion there will be a higher level of certainty to be met before a conclusion is reached.
