I agree that evidence (data) is the bases for any conclusion reached using the scientific method.
I would not go so far as saying law decisions are final. If they were there would be no reversals by higher courts.
I believe since Daubert the courts are making an effort to ensure that the methodology being used in the conclusion process be reliable. I agree, if one is expecting to be accepted as a witness that person must first use an accepted methodology and then be able to demonstrate to the court that the methodology has been accepted.
