This is a very interesting and pertinent discussion. I am enjoying it and it is starting to get me thinking about, not WHAT 921 says, but How it is said.
With so many 921 Technical Committee members, former committee members, and Committee task group members participating, it occured to me that it might be import to reiterate an importatnt point.
Opinions expressed by 921 Committee participants, particularly on this issue, are the individuals' personal interpretations and NOT necessarily official NFPA interpretations of the meaning of the document. Such "offiial" interprtations can only be rendered by a specific process within the NFPA standards-making process.
