Dan:
I really agree with you on the one in the video. Glad I was not that person when it went off.
What is funny is according to the State Fire Marshal’s office in Louisiana the changes have already been done. They use the five major categories from the NFIRS program for classifying fire causes. They use intentional, unintentional, failure of equipment or heat source, act of nature, cause under investigation, or cause undetermined after investigation. As subsections under this they have factors and human factors contributing to ignition. Their unintentional or intentional deals directly with what you are saying if the fire was set to cause harm. If the fire is believed to have been intentionally started with the purpose of doing harm the person filling out the report uses the Arson section. This section goes into the unlawfully and intentionally damage, or attempt to damage, any real or personal property by fire or incendiary device.
Other areas have the same type of subsections.
Now I got Louisiana straight, how can we get them to use what they themselves have adopted?
