Where you say, “I think the definitions of data and evidence that is fundamental to the scientific community are not significantly different from NFPA 921,” I tent to follow the instructions found in 921 as to how to define the terms “data”, and Evidence.”
Would you agree factual information is considered a fact.
Factual information does not provide proof. Factual information is data. Data does not provide evidence.
You say, “The "for sale" sign on the front lawn is DATA. It can be documented and verified, thus, it is not just INFORMATION.” Are you saying the for sale sign is not factual information?
