In answer to my question you said, “I may have been OK to destroy the notes if the client says so. But if the case is not concluded it may be unwise.” Is this saying that if the client tells the investigator to close the investigation and it is the understanding of the investigator that the case is concluded, you do not have a problem if the investigator then to destroy his file.
I agree about keeping all the information learned during the investigation, I am just not sure about the keeping of the raw data.
