Appeals courts bend over backwards, they move heaven and earth to uphold a conviction. They hate to overturn a conviction because it makes the justice system look bad.
How could they know that the agent's report accurately reflected what the suspect stated? Because he said so, that's how. And we know an agent would never lie or make a mistake.
