Can you say you have not picked up any worthwhile information in these posts? I just think the deal with the notes is being made a big deal just because you and others want then so they can be used to impeach the investigator. I do not see a problem with that intention. As I have show there is a law for a segment of the public sector that does not allow these notes to be discovered.
Just as you are suspicious about what differences there are from the notes to a report, why should I not be the same as to different copies of reports? How do I know on your original report the attorney did not ask you to delete some information. Are you telling me that is never done?
As to finding when you made changes to a report did you know there is a hidden location that gives the date and time you save a document? It even will tell me when it was originally generated. I do not need a hard copy to know they were there.
What you call arguing is someone attempting to give the readers two sides to consider. I am not saying you are right or wrong, because I do not believe when it comes to a personal preference in doing a job there is a right or wrong. I guess what I really do not like on some of the post is the judgmental tone. I respect others opinions and wish they would do same for me and others.
I believe you and others have made some good points for keeping the notes and that individuals should take them very seriously into consideration, but I am in disagreement that this is the only way. What if I take hand written notes and then turn them into typed notes, not a report but just type the notes I have on the paper?
I think what has taken place in some of the latest post has been extremely informational to the readers of this site. It give those reading different view points and information to consider. I hope they take a little from both sides of the debate and develop their own thought on the subject.
