Well Said Gerald. It seems so simple. Why not just keep your notes. There is no logical reason. Only suspicious ones. I have been criticized for saying we need a standard of investigation. With so many different ways of just keeping evidence let alone conducting an investigation. How can you compare a shopping list to fire investigation notes. Because I don't have to keep them is not good enough. It sounds childish. I think Jim Mazerat has brought to light some great points. A very good thread of all our differences. Nice job. Destroying any evidence has to be wrong.
